Amino acids – BCAA’s

Proteins are complex molecules and exist of thousand of fine structures: amino acids.

There are 8 essential amino acids. Because our body can’t produce these essential amino acids itself, we have to take them through nutrition or supplements.

The BCAA’s (Valine, Leucine and Isoleucine) are the most known essential amino acids in the world of sports.

By various combinations and sequences of amino acids, you get proteins with different functionalities like enzymes and hormones. Important to know is that our muscle tissue is also build from proteins. Exercising intensively damages the muscle tissue. That is why we have to provide the body with sufficient amino acids to recover and rebuild this tissue!

Amino acids can best be taken with water or fruit juice, not with milk.
